This year’s Australia Day event at Zero Gravity will be dedicated to raising funds for the much needed relief efforts to help those who have lost their loved ones, homes and livelihoods in the Australian bushfires. Starting at 2pm on Sunday 26th January, the day to night event will be dedicated those affected by the on going disaster.

It is estimated that around 1.25 billion animals may have been killed during Australia's horror bushfire season, 2000 homes have been destroyed as bushfires have so far burned through an area almost the size of England and 18 million acres of land have been destroyed.

In association with Emirates Red Crescent, with funds being transferred to the Red Cross in Australia as part of the UAE’s #mateshelpmates initiative, the family fundraiser also involves the generous support of many other partners across the UAE community.

The event will include an Aussie ‘barbie’ and refreshments, with the full proceeds being donated to the cause. There will also be regular raffle draws throughout the day to win awesome prizes donated by the local community, as well as an auction. Again, all proceeds will go to towards the relief effort.

Musically, you can expect Aussie classic sing-alongs from DJs and musicians who “Come from the land Down Under”, who are dedicating their time for free. In the garden there will be fairground games and face-painting for kids big and small, bring your swimmers because pool and beach entry is also included.

So, come down with the family after school, or straight after work, and help those who need it most in true Australian spirit. Lets come together and fully support this worthy cause.
