DUBAI OPERA SET TO SHOWCASE ITS FIRST EVER COMICAL PRODUCTION, SPAMALOT, IN APRIL 2018
Dubai UAE, January 2018 – Dubai Opera in partnership with Broadway Entertainment Group, has today announced that it will be showcasing its first ever comical production, Spamalot, a reinvigorated production by Selladoor Productions and Mercury Theatre Colchester to the Dubai Opera stage from 29 April to 6 May, for 7 side-splitting performances.
Marvelously spun off from the hugely successful 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, this hilarious production is a mutinous comedy full of misfit knights, killer rabbits, nutty nuns and ferocious Frenchmen. Audiences at Dubai Opera will join King Arthur as he travels with his hapless Knights of the Round Table on a divine mission to locate the elusive Holy Grail – with uproarious consequences.
The Tony Award-winning show is written by Python legend Eric Idle, who has been entertaining the British public for over 50 years. Idle, also wrote the score alongside John DuPrez, famous for his work on Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life amongst a host of other big-name scores.
Directed by Daniel Buckroyd, designed by Sara Perks and choreographed by Ashley Nottingham, Spamalot, will showcase witty tunes including Brave Sir Robin, We’re Knights of the Round Table and perennial favourite Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.Dubai Opera audiences are sure to be dancing in the aisles!
